Every Blogger/Webmaster needs icons for their website or blog, that’s a given.  Finding quality icons that are free is the tricky part of the equation.  There are hundreds of sites offering a wide-range of icons but many of them are outdated (think AIM icons) or they come at a cost.  To make it easy I’m sharing a handful of sites that I get my icons from free of charge.

Iconfinder has a great database of 158,179 icons and 502 icon sets.  Most of their icons come in PNG or ICO format with various sizes.

Icon Archive boasts over 30,000 high-quality icons for Windows, Mac and Linux.  This site has almost any category of icons you can imagine.

IconsPedia is a great resource for PNG icons.  They don’t have the largest selection of icons but they have some great one’s that you can sort through.
